What is it?
The Symphonic Orchestra is our intermediate ensemble. It is a full orchestra that explores a wide range of music from Baroque to modern film scores. Orchestra members will learn listening and collaboration skills, as well as orchestral performance techniques.
The Symphonic Orchestra is our intermediate ensemble. It is a full orchestra that explores a wide range of music from Baroque to modern film scores. Orchestra members will learn listening and collaboration skills, as well as orchestral performance techniques.
Who can join?
Strings, wind, brass, and percussion students ages 6 to 18. Musicians should have good breath, bow, or stick control, be able to play fluently in the keys of C, G, D, and A, and be able to sight-read simple rhythms. String players should be able to play in tune in first position and ideally have some experience shifting to second and third positions.
Auditions are held prior to fall semester; for mid-year auditions please email [email protected].
