Home Parents What is "Slow Practice"

What is "Slow Practice"

As anyone who has taken private lessons is probably aware, one practice technique encouraged by teachers is  "slow practice". What is it, and why is it so important to do this? What are musicians expected to listen for in the process, and how to relate that to their "up-to-tempo" efforts?  This short piece by Grammy-winning violinist Hilary Hahn addresses these questions.
